    07 Jul 98Prior to this date, the basic files of the Wirksworth Records were hosted by GENUKI at: http://midas.co.uk/genuki/big/eng/DBY/Wirksworth. Entries are recorded at this URL for 11 Apr 1996 and 7 Dec 1996.

    Work began about May 1995 on transcribing some of the Wirksworth Bishop's Transcripts. This was followed by transcribing the Wirksworth Registers 1608-1837 and building the results into a database. Results were published using email to individuals and and GENUKI to the public at least as early as 11 Apr 1996. Work on the Register was completed about May 1998.
