CLAY, shoemaker, Wirksworth

Three generations of shoemaker called CLAY settled near the Market place in Wirksworth. Thomas 1827-1919 came from Mugginton and married Charlotte WETTON. Their sons William 1850-1933 and Thomas 1854- were also shoemakers. William's sons Henry 1875-, Fred 1881- and Stanley- 1883 became shoemakers too.
