View from The Meadows, Wirksworth

A lovely view showing a line of elms along a road and stone wall, meadows, houses and a large vegatable garden, some light snow on the roofs and no leaves on the trees. A straight drainage ditch runs across the meadow.

The Postcard reads "From a photo by J Watterson, Wirksworth" and
has George V red 1d stamp, franked "PM 8, 4 Aug 1919 Matlock Bath".

Card addressed to:
Mr & Mrs J T Stone
152 Tiverton Road,
Bournbrook,
Birmingham.

Message reads:
Dear Children,
We got here all right & the weather was very nice yesterday hope you all keeping all right. Will Jim please open any letters & if any want answering will you please either answer them or send them on here. & Pa wants Jim to see Joe Homes? & ask him what they are fetching now. As he has got the chance to buy some.
Love from Uncle & Aunt.
Mother & Father H.S.

A nice card, no wonder there were 12 bids for it on Ebay.
