Bonsal Cross

This is from an attractive old, early coloured postcard titled 'Bonsal Cross Matlock'. The small village of Bonsall or Bonsal was once a market town and the cross shown dates from 1687. It rests on an ascent of 15 steps. The village is in a deep dale and with many lead mines close by many of the houses and cottages probably housed lead miners and weavers. It is close to Matlock Bath, Upper Town, Cromford, Middleton, Grangemill, Matlock Dale and Wirksworth. The card is postally used and the stamp remains. It is postmarked Manchester October 29 1907 and sent to Miss M Allen, West Hurley, New York, USA. It is from Valentine's Series. It was posted from Miss A Walker, 128 Russell Street, Moss Side, Manchester. It looks like they might have been part of a postcard exchange 'club' as the recipient is addressed as Dear J.J. 1290 and the sender adds J.J. 2145 after her name. Can anyone elaborate on what this might be?
