Gilbert Pidcock ROBINSON 1842-1894

Hello John,
.....This one I had to enhance as sadly the image is fast fading away. It is
also the only photo of my Great grandfather Gilbert Pidcock Robinson.
Subject: Gilbert Pidcock Robinson.
Born 5th Jan 1842 Ashbourne
Died 30 June 1894 Manchester
Father: Edward Robinson (Gas Manager at Ashbourne, Stockport
and finally Wirksworth where he died, 14 Nov 1880, at home in
the Gas Managers House, Warmbrook.)
Mother: Ann, formerly Salt, nee Pidcock. (Ann in infancy lost
her two brothers and her mother, her father Gilbert Pidcock
went to America to start a new life but sadly died there.)
She and her family are mentioned in Inces Pedigrees.
Gilbert lived with his family for a time in Warmbrook. He later moved to
Manchester then to Holland as a mechanic/engineer. On his return to England
his children could only speak Dutch! He remained in Manchester but continued
to visit relatives in Wirksworth. He was buried in Phillips Park Cemetary,
Manchester.
