REF Ivy Maskrey Crutcher “Some of the boys grew up and became boxers and some of them went to war and suffered from what we now call post traumatic stress syndrome. I can neither prove nor disprove at present (Nov 2003) However, Ivy knew a lot about family history and I believe that this is correct. Some of them died in World War I.
REF Letter 22 Oct 1981 Ivy Maskrey Crutcher, “Aunt Eliza married Joe not Bill Haines or Hayes) I don’t know the correct spelling they lived at Kirkby not Kirkby Folly. They had a household of boys and one girl. The girl was in training to be a nurse in Nottingham. The boys were all interested in sports especially in boxing. Some of them had been in Paris, which they called Paree. They went to France to Box. The girl the oldest was named Mary Ann. The boys were named Arthur, Bill Ernest Walter Charles Jack Harold Sidney as I remember. There may have been others, I don’t know. We did not see them I think some of them were killed in World War I. When we went to Canada we lost track of them entirely.
