Godfrey MARSDEN was my G,G,G,G, Grandfather, a brazier (tinsmith) born in
Wirksworth in 1755. He died 13 April 1833 age 78. He married Elizabeth SWINCOE
25 Aug 1777 in Darley Dale. Elizabeth was born in Wirksworth in 1757 and died
8 Feb 1813 age 56. They had fourteen children, who were:

Henry MARSDEN of Wirksworth was my G,G,G, Grandfather who carried on the
trade of (tinsmith) in Market Square in Wirksworth. He married Ann ROPER on
14 Dec 1820. Ann was born in Wirksworth on 23 Feb 1801 c 29 Mar 1801 and was
sister to Francis ROPER who married Henry's sister Esther. Ann died 24 Jan 1842
age 42. Henry then married Hannah ADAMS 28 Sept 1846. Hannah was born in 1810
in Alderwasley and died 26 Nov 1868 age 58. Henry MARSDEN died 17 Feb 1867
age 72 leaving a very informative Will.

Daniel MARSDEN was my G,G,Grandfather and married Ellen Wesley on 15 Aug 1850.
she was christened Oct 1830 and died 3 Oct 1903 age 73. Following Daniel's
death in 1879 age 52 she married William MALPASS on 21 June 1888.
Daniel MARSDEN carried on the family business in Market Square in Wirksworth.

William Wesley MARSDEN was widdowed when Ellen Maria died on 3 Oct 1903 age 36.
He then married Catherine and they had 2 children.
Catherine died 6 Sept 1930 age 77.

Chanderhill nr. Old Brampton. on 17 Mar 1875. Robert DICKEN died 14 Dec 1891

Ann LOMAS again became a widow in 1900 when Edwin LOMAS died age 57.
Ann DICKEN junior was my grandmother she married Charles LONGCROFT-NEAL
a baker in Derby on 11 Oct 1908 they had 4 children:-
1 Wilfred Charles LONGCROFT-NEAL born 24 July 1909 in Aston Birmingham
died in New Zealand
2 Walter Reginald LONGCROFT-NEAL born 4 July 1911 in South Wales
died 14 July 1984 age 73 in Northampton
3 Ronald Marsden LONGCROFT-NEAL born 7 May 1913 in Aberavon South Wales
died 27 April 1939 age 25 in Meriden Warks.

died 10 Mar 1980 age 73
