"PEDIGREES" |
by Thomas Norris INCE 1799-1860 |
Here is a transcription of the 484 pages of this Manuscript Book,
made from a microfilm copy supplied by Derby Local Studies Library.
In most cases abbreviations have been expanded without
comment to avoid confusion.
A new page numbering system is used based on the microfilm frame order.
Ince's original page numbers and the DLSL photocopy reference are given
in red brackets.
The original pages are held at DLSL, are separated,
and unfortunately do not possess a coherent numbering system.
These pages were transcribed by John Palmer, Kathryn Farrell
and Sonia Addis-Smith
between Oct 1999 and Feb 2000.
Proof-read by Sonia and John,
edited and compiled by John.

[see footnote in pedigree above, it could be 10 Ann or 15 Margaret:
Either Anne or Margaret I know not which mard Mr WHITE grandfather of Mr
Thomas WHITE]
Hi John
Just wanting to let you know that today I found that the Mr White who
married one of Jethro Norman's daughters was a William White and he
actually married Elizabeth Norman, sister to Ann & half-sister to
Margaret. What the person giving Thomas Ince the pedigree didn't know
was that there was another daughter for Jethro and his first wife
Elizabeth Oates, Elizabeth was baptised at Winster on 12 Apr 1711 so
that would make her only 18 when she married William White, probably why
they needed a licence:-
Found in the Ashbourne PRs - 20 Nov 1729 Wm. WHITE of Ashbourne married
Elizab. NORMAN of Winster, licence
No 03 in the White pedigree - George White of Winster - had two brothers
& they were all bap at Ashbourne, William 26 Feb 1737, Thomas 30 Dec
1734 & George 28 Sep 1740.
George married Sarah MOWER, it looks like perhaps you couldn't read the
writing of Sarah's father's name.
I don't know if you want to add any of that as a note to the Ince
Diaries or not.
Cheers....Dawn ©¿©¬
