Wirksworth Photo database

It is hoped to gradually build up a database of old photos of the Wirksworth area, with a view to displaying low resolution graphics on this website and high resolution graphics on a CD. This will help preserve and display Wirksworth's Heritage for future generations.
Derek Walker of Wirksworth Heritage Centre has access to the Centre's collection of old photos, and is able to convert them to high resolution graphics.
If anyone has photos of places or people in the Wirksworth Area from before 1920, and is willing to have them published electronically, please contact me: or Derek Walker. The older and more unusual the photo, the more delighted we will be! The original photo will be returned to its owner safely and quickly after scanning.

If anyone has information about any of the photos shown, please contact me: and it will be entered into the database.
